**Job Title: Material Handler II**
**Job Description**
The Material Handler II performs several activities to assist with warehouse operations. The role involves understanding the significance of their duties in the Food Safety Management System and ensuring all activities adhere to food safety and customer satisfaction standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Inspect, weigh, and record the weight of empty and loaded pallets.
+ Maintain clean and suitable conditions in the warehouse area by following standard practices.
+ Operate a forklift as needed to receive, store, and load products.
+ Complete all required training.
+ Follow all safety, quality, and food safety policies.
+ Inspect the forklift daily.
+ Inspect trailers before loading.
+ Maintain organizational rotation of finished products (FIFO).
+ Organize finished products and consumables in the warehouse.
+ Use a barcode scanner or other technology as required.
+ Handle products for reprocessing in the production area.
+ Ensure regular and timely attendance.
+ Provide documentation and information concerning the handling, storage, and loading of warehouse items.
+ Perform basic duties of the supervisor when the Warehouse Supervisor is not present.
**Essential Skills**
+ Operate a Forklift (3 years total)
+ Basic Math Skills
+ Basic Computer Skills
+ Ability to read, write, and speak English
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 5 years of mobile equipment experience (forklift)
+ Experience in food manufacturing
+ Secondary diploma/GED or equivalent

**Work Environment**
The work is performed while standing, sitting, or walking, and requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. The role involves lifting or carrying at least 50 lbs. Some functions are performed in an office. Employees will be around moving machinery and may experience marked changes in temperature and humidity due to inclement weather. The schedule includes 12-hour shifts with a rotating 3-day weekend off every other weekend. Day shifts run from 7am to 7pm, and night shifts from 7pm to 7am. Attire includes a purple hard hat (provided), clean jeans, and a t-shirt with no holes, tears, rips, or offensive logos.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of EVANSVILLE, Indiana.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.43 - $25.43
