**Description**
SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented, efficient, and organized professional to join our growing team as a **Material Coordinator** in **Bedford, IN** to support the U.S. Navy.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
This position is responsible for managing inventory levels, overseeing the flow of materials, coordinating with suppliers and ensuring that the delivery of materials meets production schedules.
Job duties include:
+ Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure material availability, considering current stock, lead times, and production schedules.
+ Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply issues.
+ Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
+ Work closely with the procurement department to help identify new suppliers, negotiate pricing, and improve material quality.
+ Collaborate with production and planning teams to forecast future material needs and prepare procurement schedules.
+ Oversee the receipt of all incoming materials, ensuring proper documentation, inspection, and storage.
+ Assist in implementing and maintaining inventory management systems and strategies.
+ Generate and maintain accurate records and reports regarding inventory levels, material usage, and procurement.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency.
+ Engage in the materials lifecycle management from procurement to disposal.
**Qualifications**
**REQUIREMENTS**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of experience in material coordination, inventory control, or a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment
+ Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start
+ Must be a U.S. citizen
+ Proficient in using inventory management software and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite)
+ Familiarity with ERP systems
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Strong communication and negotiation skills
+ Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
+ Proven track record of effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
