PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate and requisition material.Establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. Make arrangements for in-plant transfer of parts, assemblies, and materials to meet production schedules. Plan with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments, and verify the correct material, parts, or assemblies were delivered to production departments.May monitor and control movement of material and parts through the production system. May calculate and schedule delivery of material or parts needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product, inspection, and assembly processes. Uses computer programs to compile reports of quantities and types of materials, products, and assemblies in stock. Move or transport material between departments, using hand or industrial trucks. Use computers to compile production records in order to locate material in process of maintenance or assembly and may also maintain some employee records.ADITIONAL POSITION DESCRIPTON
This position will require rotating between the Kitting/ Bench stock section and Tool Room / HAZMART area. And will requireThe building stocking and issuing of aircraft hardware kitsIssuing and restocking of common hardware from bench stockIssuing and receiving of special toolsIssuing and restocking of consumables from tool roomIssuing, receiving, and restocking of chemicals used in aviation maintenance procedures.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.Ability to enter data accurately into databases.Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to generate routine reports and correspondenceExcellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.Ability to follow a process.Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas with limited information in high stress situations and environmentsProblem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. High School Diploma or EquivalentMinimum of 2 years’ experience as a materials coordinator, shipping / receiving, inventory control or other related fieldPrevious experience using a forklift or other material handling equipment is preferredMust be able to lift 50 poundsAbility to pass a drug and background screeningPREFERENCE STATEMENT
