The massage therapist works closely with the patient in providing individualized care. The massage therapist will apply therapeutic massage for the patient as needed and discussed in their plan of care. These techniques may include effleurage, petrissage, compression, stretching, range of motion, and other manual manipulation of the soft tissue. The massage session may also include energy work, hot and cold applications and essential oils as needed. The massage therapist will determine return appointment schedules as outlined in the plan of care and document treatment progress in the EMR. Documentation will include chief complaint/purpose of visit, plan of care, areas treated, patient education and understanding of consent. When applicable, the massage therapist will communicate with the referring provider regarding massage therapy sessions, goals, and progress specific to individual patients. **Qualifications** Certification from a state approved COMTA accredited school of therapeutic massage with at least 750 hours of massage therapy training; 1,000 hours + preferred. Maintain completion of 24 hours or more of continuing education every two years. Three years' experience as a massage therapist, preferably in a healthcare delivery system. Board certified in massage through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) preferred. Completion of a hospital-based massage therapy training program preferred. Ability to perform safe and effective massage therapy requiring: visual assessment skills, verbal, written, and auditory communication skills, fine motor function and coordination, manual sensitivity, physical strength and stamina. Ability to assimilate complex objective and subjective data and make clinical judgments based on the information provided by the patient, gathered from medical records, and provided by the health care team. Massage therapist complies with any and all city and state requirements to maintain certification. Active license to practice massage therapy in the State of Florida. Board certified in massage through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). **Exemption Status** Nonexempt **Compensation Detail** Experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $25.36 - $37.30 / hour **Benefits Eligible** Yes **Schedule** Full Time **Hours/Pay Period** 80 **Schedule Details** Monday-Friday with potential to expand and work some weekends.
