Marketing Manager

Job Summary

The Marketing Manager position is available at one of the world’s leading fragrance and flavor companies. The position will be in our Shanghai Innovation Center, with an exciting and effervescent working environment. We are looking for a teammate who will be accountable for the marketing strategy to help drive business growth by building differentiating customer value propositions for global and local customers. How you will lead and contribute:

Cross Category Market Intelligence: Build in-depth market, brand (incl. e-commerce) and consumer understanding for cross categories, share internally and leverage with customers.Country- Category Initiatives & innovation : Partner with cross-functional team to develop category knowledge in order to build and implement country category platform initiatives & innovation from a marketing perspective.Identify Customer Opportunities & Solutions: Drive brand- variant white space analysis and identify actionable insights to generate business opportunities with differentiating customer value propositions. Partner strategically with commercial and fragrance development team to build holistic customer-focused solutions to drive future business growth.Customized Value Propositions: Generate new business opportunities by building differentiated value propositions for IFF’s fragrance and technology solutions,.Cross category customer projects: Work very closely with cross-functional teams (commercial, scent design, consumer insights, technical, etc.) on assigned customer projects, implement efficient ways of working and offer strategic marketing deliverables to win business.Customer presentations/workshops/events: Define and build inspirational and impactful client presentations for workshops and inspirational events translating into customer brand implications and/or business opportunities.Regional and global marketing team collaboration: Collaborate with regional/global marketing teams to share intelligence and insights on assigned categories and brand movements on a regular basis.Market trends presentation: customize global trends presentation for local market and offer valuable regional/local inputs.Talent Development:Guide, mentor and develop direct reports and junior marketing team members.

What you will need to be successful:

Bachelor's Degree/University Degree/Business Development/Marketing. Master’s degree is preferable.  At least 10 years of Fragrance Industry marketing or relevant B2B or B2C marketing experience in adjacent industries (preferably FMCG, Flavors, Chemical/Ingredients).Ability to effectively connect consumer and market insights with fragrance and technical solutions into an integrated story and communicate the same through impactful presentations to customers. Demonstrated project management, negotiations and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities and complete responsibilities in a fast paced, change oriented environment.Data focused curiosity to liaise with Consumer Insights partner.Creativity and Passion for fragrances and for consumers with strong interest in product, concept, recognizing olfactive notes and communicating in fragrance language.Strong team player with positive attitude & collaborative mindset.High emotional intelligence and proven ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable using Digital & Social media tools to support business needs. Good communication (written & verbal) skills in English and proficient in local language. 20-30% travel is required.
