Marketing Manager, ASC

Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

The role reports to the Senior Director, ASC Marketing and is responsible for driving downstream marketing strategies and tactics required to drive sustained revenue growth in the highly competitive Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Center space. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Strategic Sales Teams, Global Marketing; Medical Education, and Sales Training to build, implement and drive commercial marketing strategies.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the ASC market landscape, including market trends, customer priorities, and the competitive environment, to shape the go-to-market approach effectively. You will support the commercial sales team by providing third-party channel assistance, both in the field and at corporate offices, ensuring customer conversion and satisfaction. This includes maintaining marketing ownership of third-party relationships, creating tools and resources to support the field, and validating new partnerships to address the needs of the customer base. Additionally, you will execute go-to-market plans for the ASC commercial program, encompassing promotions, medical education, digital marketing, and channel readiness initiatives.

You will participate in regular progress reviews and updates for U.S.-based Orthopaedic franchises and work closely with the sales team to define and implement effective targeting strategies. This involves developing physician champions and gathering input to inform marketing decisions. You will recommend potential training sites, assist with site relationship management, and elevate solicited interest from sites to the Medical Education & Professional Affairs teams. Furthermore, you will support industry educational meetings, on-site customer interactions, labs, national sales meetings, and other strategic events. By cultivating relationships with key customers, internal stakeholders, and the sales organization, you will ensure alignment and success in achieving business objectives.

What will you need to be successful?
You will need at least 3 years of marketing experience, preferably in the orthopaedic market, with knowledge of competitive products, go-to-market models, and sales channels as a plus. A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Life Sciences is preferred. Success in this role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

You must be highly energetic, adaptable, and effective at influencing others across a global organization. Exceptional communication, project management, and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and take on tasks beyond core responsibilities when needed.
