Role Purpose: This role is a member of the Leadership Team and is responsible to develop, implement and manage the marketing strategy and operations for the service stream to execute messaging, plans, training, collateral and channel communications to achieve objectives. This role will contribute significantly to organisational growth, innovation, and solidification of Uniting as a leader in the non-for-profit sector

Key Responsibilities:

Create and design marketing strategies, including positioning, segmented customer value propositions, and key messaging for various sectors and service streams. Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase market share and achieve performance targets. Develop and manage marketing materials and tactics, including photography, collateral, messaging, channel communications, programs, and promotions. Oversee the work of designers, copywriters, production teams, content providers, and printers, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and adhere to design specifications and standards. Lead, mentor, and motivate the marketing team in stakeholder communications and engagement. Maintain strong internal and external client and vendor relationships. Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistency and adherence to corporate guidelines. Drive and manage the approval process, including cross-functional approvals from quality, engineering, and legal teams when required. Achieve budget objectives and manage financial resources effectively. Continuously analyse markets to identify marketing-related risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or significant industry experience in communications, marketing, public relations, business development, project management, government, education, or community services.

Experience:

Typically, 8 or more years of experience in marketing strategy, campaign planning, and execution. Demonstrated ability to develop successful marketing strategies linked to business objectives. Proven strategic thinking, planning capabilities, and strong program and budget management skills. Experience in analytics and market interpretation. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with and influence senior stakeholders. Demonstrated capacity to lead a team, build capability, and collaborate with others. Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority.

Post graduate qualification in a relevant field Experience in community services, particularly commercially focused service organisations Passion for social change and creating an organisation of influence for the most disadvantaged.
