Market Solutions Lead - Research & Development

To ensure we can succeed in this new environment and deliver on our mission for patients, Global Procurement (GP) has transformed to build capabilities and create an agile organisation that will deliver on our vision to “accelerate Roche’s goal to bring innovative solutions to patients quickly and efficiently through business and supplier partnerships”.

Insights & Solutions is a team within GP that focuses on creating, delivering, and enhancing Procurement solutions for cross-category and/or complex business problems. We  connect external market capabilities to internal Roche needs, co-creating innovative external market offerings. This is an exciting area where you can develop cross-functional expertise, explore your passions and deliver significant, long-term value to Roche beyond the traditional Procurement value chain.

Key responsibilities / the role:

Lead the R&D market solutions team in a dynamic global environment, to manage and deliver the portfolio of solutions/projects that drive value beyond traditional procurement approaches for business customers 

Balance and identify resources to optimise impact; work with the team, networks, and squads to determine the roles needed to deliver and have an impact.

Develop and deliver market and supplier-driven solutions to meet customer needs and business challenges, seeking external market innovation and expertise by leveraging your specialized knowledge, strategic thinking, and ability to convert opportunities into tangible value. 

Identify and clarify business customer problem statements/opportunities in collaboration with GP colleagues, and seek opportunities to accelerate value realisation.

Develop and lead the identification, refinement, and management of solution frameworks, tools, and realisation approach.

Influence and lead business stakeholders to align on and co-create solutions, leveraging insights generation, innovation, storytelling, and collaboration.

Collaborate closely with procurement colleagues, business customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders. 

It is envisioned that the focus area of this role would be R&D, however, this focus area may evolve based on future market opportunities and changing customer needs and priorities.

Who you are

You hold a university degree, a life science degree is preferable. You also have extensive experience within procurement, supply chain, and/or management consulting, ideally in a matrix organization, as well as strong demonstrated success in building and cultivating collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

A strategic leader who develops the team with a focus on aligned outcomes, with demonstrated experience delivering strategies, market expertise, and innovation across R&D categories or markets.

You are an astute communicator with strong presentation skills and who collaborates with stakeholders to understand needs. You can make decisions and influence others to do the same; you repurpose work and ideas in favor of starting from scratch. 

You are an enterprise thinker, leveraging business understanding and technical expertise to create solutions for business customers; proactively fostering collaboration across Roche, (including across the procurement network) to connect the dots

You demonstrate curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus on sharing ideas/knowledge, continuous learning and improvement.
