The Research Analyst, as part of the Market and Competitive Intelligence team, is a mid-level role that supports varying types of research and analyses of industry and market considerations to influence business decisions. By leveraging multiple datasets for competitive analysis, the individual will help with benchmarking competitive landscapes, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and maintaining a competitive intelligence monitoring program at Thrivent.
This can be a remote position within the US.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports project-specific research of varying types and scopes with an emphasis on wealth management. Proposes ways to help define and construct a proper outline for the work, inclusive of timing. Creates comprehensive outputs of this work in the form of concise and complete research papers, PowerPoint decks, etc.
Leverages multiple datasets and data tools for broad range of competitive reporting and analyses. Focuses on identifying the most relevant items. Partners with vendors and leverages vendor offerings to conduct the work.
Helps build and deliver storytelling and visualizations of data and insights and supports senior team members in research report creation.
At the direction of the Manager, works with cross-functional stakeholders to provide competitive intelligence, benchmark competitive landscapes, analyze and interpret competitive qualitative and quantitative data, scope and conduct competitive ad hoc research, and provide insightful consultations to enhance decision making and product/service offerings.
Executes key deliverables, and continually curates, manages, and shares intelligence.
Helps maintain a competitive intelligence monitoring platform.
Supports analyses of competitor financial results, period reporting, competitor profiles, and other ad hoc competitive requests.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
Demonstrated business acumen with at least 5 years of experience working within financial services.
Strong sense of intellectual curiosity and passion for data and insight development.
Knowledge and experience research methodologies. This includes secondary research and financial analyses and the ability to integrate disparate data to answer complex questions.
Ability to conduct quantitative analyses and reporting with familiarity in constructing and reviewing datasets and their outputs (e.g., financial analyses).
Ability to develop and tailor key insights and messages appropriately for audience (senior leader, manager, etc.). High faculty for compellingly conveying insights via written or verbal presentation.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, within a stated objective.
Project management skills.
Able to work with a sense of urgency on multiple projects at the same time.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
Industry experience in wealth management strategy and/or execution.
Experience and proficiency in working with various research platforms, including but not limited to Capital IQ, CB Insights, LexisNexis, Forrester, Industry-specific publications (e.g., Cerulli).
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI.
