Market Access Senior Manager, Health & Value UK
Role Summary

The Asset & Access Senior Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the market access and pricing strategies across priority assets within one or more of Pfizer’s business units (BU) to ensure timely, sustainable access to Pfizer medicines and vaccines for patients in the UK. This role will develop and execute early pipeline and launch readiness market access and pricing strategy to optimise patient access to Pfizer’s breakthroughs in the UK.  

Role Responsibilities

Market Access & Pricing Strategy

Lead early pricing and access assessments for pipeline assets and ensure that UK needs are represented within global clinical and access strategiesLead communication and alignment across global and UK cross-functional teams to deliver a coherent launch readiness strategy across pricing & reimbursement, access (national & sub-national), external engagement (e.g. NHSE), health technology assessment (HTA), real-world evidence (RWE) etc.Lead UK pricing strategy (including tender excellence where relevant) for assigned assetsWork closely with Global Market Access colleagues to develop the value proposition and negotiation strategy for launch assetsBecome the BU Access & Value strategic lead and provide clear perspective on priorities and market access strategy across the portfolio within a given BU

Competitor & Environmental Dynamics

Address challenges arising in the dynamic UK access environment, anticipate key trends, analyse organisational implications and translate into strategic recommendations for the BUProvide insights and evidence to support an optimal access policy environment in the UK, e.g. VPAG, NHSE Commercial FrameworkMonitor the competitive pricing and access landscape and develop proactive and reactive tactics to manage risks/threats and ensure optimal patient access and uptake

Culture & Thought-Leadership

Collaborate closely with colleagues across the Asset & Access Team to ensure a one-Pfizer mindset in all strategies and customer engagement and help position Pfizer as a market access thought-leaderPartner with key stakeholders, academia and relevant institutions (e.g. NHSE), in collaboration with other A&V functions, to build capability and lead the industry in value-based reimbursement models.Work with A&V colleagues to identify new opportunities for value creation based on an understanding of Health Care systems and the potential benefits of Pfizer medicines

Role Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Qualifications

Degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Public Health, or other relevant areaPreference: advanced degree in Business, Health Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences, or other relevant area

Experience

Extensive experience in pharmaceutical or related field requiredExtensive experience in market access and launching new pharmaceutical products into an HTA or single-payer market preferredCross-functional team leadership of matrix teams including commercial, medical, finance, market analytics within and above country is desirableExperience in developing innovative solutions to secure patient access to medicines within a large national health system would be highly valuable

Skills

Strong understanding of the UK market access environment, drug development process, strategic and operational planning processesKnowledge and understanding of applied health economics and associated disciplinesProven ability to build coalitions and develop strong partnerships internally across functions and externally with different types of stakeholdersExecutive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, coupled with outstanding writing and presentation skillsAbility to work under pressure, to take accountability for business challenges, think strategically and tackle complex problemsIntellectual curiosity and ability to spot trends/ patterns
