Job Description
We are seeking a Marine Structural Engineer who will be responsible for structural modeling of platforms and marine steel structures. The role involves calculating loads such as wind, seismic, dead, and live loads, adhering to structural building codes, and creating designs based on these calculations. The candidate will prepare and analyze models, create designs of structural members, and report directly to the VP of Marine Engineering. The position includes field visits approximately 1-2 times per month and involves working on projects that can range from a few months to several years.
ResponsibilitiesPerform structural modeling for platforms and marine steel structures.Calculate loads, including wind, seismic, dead, and live loads.Adhere to structural building codes.Prepare and analyze models and create designs based on load calculations.Report to and collaborate with the VP of Marine Engineering.Participate in field visits 1-2 times per month.Essential SkillsExperience with AutoCAD and CAD software.Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering.0-4 years of experience in marine structural engineering.Knowledge of structural analysis and design.Proficiency in structural calculations, drafting, and design.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with structural software such as Staad Pro, SAP2000, Optimoor, and ENERCALC is preferred but not necessary.EIT certification is advantageous.Strong skills in marine engineering, industrial design, and structural steel.Work Environment
Office hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility for early arrival or departure and working through lunch. After familiarizing with the company's processes, hybrid work flexibility may be considered. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
