Tradesmen International is looking to expand our team of qualified Marine Trade Professionals for current & future projects in and around Newport News, VA.  Most positions are first shift with a pay range of $24-38/hour based on experience plus Per Diem to qualified Travelers 60+ miles from the job site.  If you are a Marine Shipfitters and want to work alongside other proven Craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior workmanship, this is your chance to advance your career!

 

Job Scope:

Layout and Fabricate Metal Structural Parts, such as Plates, Bulkheads, and Frames, and Braces them into Position within Hull of Ship for Riveting or WeldingLays out Position of Parts on MetalUsing Scribe and Hand Tools Locate and Mark Reference, such as Center, Buttock and Frame LinesPosition Parts in Hull of Ship, assisted by RiggerAligns Parts in Relation to each other, using Jacks, Turnbuckles, Clips, Wedges, and MaulsMarks Location of Holes to be Drilled and Installs Temporary Fasteners to Hold Part in Place for Welding or RivetingInstalls Packing and Gaskets, Liners and Structural Accessories and Members, such as Doors, Hatches, Brackets and ClipsPrepare Molds and Templates for Fabrication of Non-Standard PartsTack Weld Clips and Brackets in Place Prior to Permanent WeldingRoll, Bend, Flange, Cut and Shape Plates, Beams, and other Heavy Metal Parts, using Shop Machinery, such as Plate Rolls, Presses, Bending Brakes and Joggle Machines

Requirements:

Able to Read Blueprints or TemplatesTools for the TradeProper PPE OSHA 10 is Preferred
