Positions - 6 Hourly Rate - 28.04 - 33.94 Revision Date - 9/17/18 Area/Division - 01/23 DUTIES: Under direct but not constant supervision, to perform all levels of drafting work to create, update and maintain identified maps and drawings; to perform drafting and clerical work requiring the exercise of independent judgment in connection with the formulation and maintenance of maps, drawings and information. Perform related work as assigned. Details of work such as: Draw and maintain overhead and underground maps and diagrams, with computer or, when necessary, by hand. Review and interpret field plats, operating notes, electronic files, data and/or other construction reporting methods at a low to intermediate level of complexity. Receive, review and, when necessary, correct electronic information (facility maps, data) received and post electronic information into system(s). Perform field inspections, when requested, to resolve discrepancies in maps and drawings, and/or to obtain additional information. Field checking/inspection during emergency storm restoration events. Create, maintain and prepare special maps, drawings or reports when requested. Maintain and update information transformer load information. SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Quality and accuracy in updating and maintaining maps and information. For holding as confidential information obtained in connection with Company business. Responsible for safe, prudent, efficient and effective use of Company resources. Conduct self in an efficient and effective manner. CONTACTS: Supervisors, Engineers, Construction personnel, other Company departments, outside companies (if requested) in acquiring information for the maintenance of system maps and operating diagrams. Customers in the performance of field checking or storm work. WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily in an office environment. However, when in the field must wear personal protective equipment as required. Subject to call out for field checking during emergency storm restoration. Subject to all weather conditions. Operation of a vehicle, considerable walking over rough terrain. Exposed to varying weather and construction site conditions. Will work in close proximity to energized electrical facilities. QUALIFICATIONS: High school degree or equivalent. Three (3) credit hours at an accredited university, college or junior college in CAD (Computer Aided Drafting/Design) or GIS (Geographic Information System) related course with a minimum grade level of "C". One (1) year drafting experience within the Company; or two (2) years outside the Company in CAD or GIS related work. Pass the Company’s EEI Technical Aptitude Test. Pass the Company CAD Proficiency Test. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
