Position Summary:
Milacron is looking for a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer to join our team in Mt. Orab, OH. As a Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing tooling and fixturing used in the manufacturing process. The main goal is to create efficient systems that produce high-quality products in a cost-effective manner. You will establish internal processes that safely ensure the production of high-quality products that meet compliance and project requirements. Responsibilities include driving continuous improvement throughout the shop by owning project timelines, improving throughput & cost, resolving technical/process issues, and drive lean initiatives throughout the shop. Lead and effectively interface with support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, Quality, Delivery, and Cost savings goals.
Work You’ll Do:
Design tooling and work holding fixtures with a 3D model-based CAD system to support the manufacturing of machined products
Research and requisition commercial tooling and components to support the manufacturing groups
Utilize ERP system to document components and BOMs and issue orders to manufacture
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and plant equipment layout
Coordinate with manufacturing engineers to optimize the manufacturability of products
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Implement, maintain, and continuously improve 5S methodology in assigned areas
Communicate with suppliers to drive improvement in the quality of commercial tooling components
Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity
Apply standard engineering techniques to ensure that specific goals are met in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost
Basic Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of manufacturing work experience
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software
Understanding of CNC programming, machining processes, and quality control processes
Knowledge of cutting tools used in metal machining processes (drills, mills, lathes, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering
Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) or formal Lean Six Sigma training
