Job Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician C to join our team at Stennis Space Center, MS.

In this role, you will work with technicians and quality assurance personnel, as well as supporting assembly, test, and delivery of large rocket engines and components, with primary responsibility for rocket engine test preparation, test, and post-test processing. You will have an opportunity to develop specialized knowledge of engine and component function & assembly, pre and post-test processing and functional testing and inspections.

Essential Functions:

Work with staff in related disciplines, including contractors, and customers, to ensure successful assembly, testing, and delivery of Aerojet Rocketdyne products.Daily communication of activities and status with Aerojet Rocketdyne personnel at the Design Centers.Apply basic knowledge of mechanical systems, various measuring and testing devices, and experience with hand tools are essential.Learn and follow detailed processes associated with the operation and maintenance of large-scale rocket engine test facilities.Operate computers and special software associated with PLC hardware and graphical user interface preferred.Understand and interpret required engineering drawings, instructions, and technical manuals needed.Knowledge of mechanical equipment such as high-pressure pneumatic, cryogenic and hydraulic systems, NDT equipment, etc.Pass an eye exam and certifications such as thrust chamber entry, respirator, lock out- tag out, cryogenic safety, process safety management, etc.Work independently and in a team environment.Work at heights and in confined areas.Travel up to 10% as required.Demonstrate good communication skills and attention to detail during performance of roles and responsibilities.Work all shifts and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior manufacturing experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior manufacturing experience.US Citizenship

Preferred Additional Skills:

Work may require the ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift, etc.) in a safe manner.Must be able to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.Aerospace background with A&P license/military equivalent proficiency test, preferred.Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
