Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing Technician in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will work both independently and, on a team, to maintain and improve manufacturing engineering processes in an operations environment. 

What you can look forward to in this role:

Responsible for facility Layout within assigned sectionOwning Process Design, Work Standards and Standard Work, Manufacturing Releasing (CN/Deviation Review), Detailed Drawing and Model Review, Facility Engineering, Programming, PFMEA/SFMEA, Tool and Fixture Design, Acquisition of Tools and Equipment & AGC/Robotic Programming.Acquire and maintain current knowledge of technological advances in processing, material composition, automation of material movement and /or machine capability. This knowledge is used to provide input into project assignments and solve common manufacturing process problems. Manufacturing Technicians assist with the more complex issues related to determining capital requirements, developing systems or databases, or equipment and systems integration.This position requires knowledge of various engineering, manufacturing and /or maintenance standards and practices and various Caterpillar systems. The ability to utilize a variety of computer software packages is also necessary. 

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

A minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical background or more than 2 years working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant job-related experienceIn lieu of educational requirements, a minimum of 5 years of progressive manufacturing related experience is acceptableThorough knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and/or maintenance standards and manufacturing systemsPrior experience working in a machining, assembly, fabricationExperience with NPI from development to implementationPrior experience working in a manufacturing engineering position Prior experience in writing/developing work instructionsPrior experience working in a machining, assembly, fabricationExperience with NPI from development to implementationPrior experience with AGC/Robotic systemsExperience with 2-D and 3-D modeling software

Summary Pay Range:

$71,040.00 - $106,440.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
