Manufacturing Project Engineer CAM
General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS’ expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide. Under general direction, this position supports the manufacturing production process with focus on the planning, scheduling, implementation, and oversight of new or revised production processes for the efficient and economical fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Assist with development of project plan and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained. + Monitor project schedule, timeline, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals. + Monitor work of manufacturing staff, providing technical support and direction when necessary. + Create progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation. May present results to project staff when necessary. + Identify and assess project issues and develop recommendations for solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. + May participate in the request for proposal (RFP) process to generate new business. + Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. + Ensures that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. + Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. + Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to staff. + May be required to make technical presentations to staff. + Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. + Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. + Must have a thorough understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties. + Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems. + Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact. + Able to work extended hours and travel as required. **Salary:** $81,080 - $141,650 **Travel Percentage Required** 0 - 25 **Relocation Assistance Provided** Provided **US Citizenship Required?** Yes **Clearance Required?** No **Clearance Level** null **Workstyle** Onsite General Atomics is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
