Your Role
The Manufacturing Operator 4 in the Pro 5 department at MilliporeSigma will play a critical role in the production and purification of high-quality flavor and fragrance (F&F) chemical compounds for MilliporeSigma's customers. You will leverage your expertise to drive process improvements, lead problem-solving initiatives, and mentor team members, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include the following:
Independently identify and resolve inefficiencies, implementing sustainable improvements to enhance production processesLead thorough root cause investigations and implement formal Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of issuesChampion 6S/OPEX initiatives, providing expert guidance and support to the teamDocument and communicate best practices and innovative ideas to foster a culture of continuous learningLead and participate in cross-departmental initiatives, such as PDSA groups, training programs, and safety committeesDemonstrate expert knowledge of relevant SAP applications for accurate data entry, material management, and billingModify production records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and compliancePerform complex analytical testing, including sample preparation and data interpretationAct as a key resource and provide leadership functions as required by managementPromote a positive safety, quality, and inclusive work environment through proactive leadershipProactively assist team members and contribute to departmental and site-wide improvementsRecognize and implement corrective measures for process deviationsTrain new employees, mentor colleagues, and maintain accurate training recordsProvide effective solutions to production and packaging challengesConduct small-scale experiments under authorized supervisionDemonstrate a comprehensive understanding of process rationaleServe as a key resource for resolving complex processing issuesIndependently develop and execute daily work plans to optimize time and resourcesShift/hours: 1st shift, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, M-F
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
OR
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or other life science discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
Comprehension of oral and written instructionsExcellent communication skills – verbal and writtenAttention to detail and problem solving skillsBasic math skills, including using the metric systemMechanical aptitude and dexterity
