**JOB SUMMARY** :
Client is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing & Facilities Mechanic Lead located in Aurora, Illinois. With minimal guidance, the Manufacturing & Facilities Mechanic lead will function as the in-house expert on any maintenance and/or construction needs for the building and equipment. This position will work closely and collaborate with Aurora management and staff on maintenance needs and improvement projects. May involve training or managing direct reports.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**
+ Perform preventative maintenance tasks on production (Blending & Packaging) and facility equipment
+ Responsible for the setup and utilization of the CMMS system for the Aurora facility
+ Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment
+ Demonstrate a high work ethic with focus on safety, quality and cost effectiveness
+ Diagnose & trouble shoot operational, process, mechanical and electrical problems
+ Install & repair industrial pumps (electric & AOD), Valves (actuated & manual) with materials of construction (metal: steel, stainless, bronze) or PVC and Piping (SS, PVC, copper, etc.)
+ Support capital projects, interface & coordinate any external work done in the Aurora plant
+ Train others as needed and lead others in repair projects
+ Always maintain high quality standards, effectiveness, and thoroughness
+ Rebuild necessary equipment components as needed
+ Represent the client values, objectives, and policies
+ Install production & facility equipment in accordance with manufacturers' specifications
+ Perform similar, comparable or related duties, as may be required.
**EDUCATION/SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Higher education (AAS or higher) preferred
+ Skilled trade certification(s) or equivalent work experience
**EXPERIENCE:**
+ previous experience as a maintenance mechanic or technician for a commercial or manufacturing facility
+ Chemical process experience preferred.
+ Previous boiler, pipe cutting, welding, industrial design etc. preferred
**SKILLS:**
+ Understanding of methods, materials, tools, and equipment to perform repairs & preventative maintenance.
+ Ability to advise (potential failures, recommendations/ improvements
+ Analytical problem solving and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical problems
+ Ability to work independently, perform physical labor; and follow instructions.
+ Ability to guide/lead others.
+ Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
+ Mechanically inclined and possess agility/ manual dexterity to safely operate hand and power tools.
+ Basic computer and email proficiency, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
+ Maintain a neat and orderly work area in accordance with established housekeeping procedures and requirements to ensure a safe and clean work environment.

**WORKING CONDITIONS:**
+ Exposure to both office & manufacturing environments.
+ Occasional extra hours and emergency call-ins could be required.
+ Exposure to noise levels up to 80 decibels.
+ Wearing of proper PPE such as safety glasses/goggles/shield, safety shoes, and hearing protection is required.
+ Working & performing tasks safely from elevated work platforms or ladders.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Crawling, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and climbing.
+ Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and be able to lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs.
**JOB SUMMARY** :
This position serves as a leader for manufacturing operations and a back-up to the Manager of Manufacturing Operations on an as needed basis. When the Manager of Manufacturing Operations is unavailable or out of the office, the Manufacturing Lead is the acting manager and provides direction and support to the production and manufacturing staff.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
+ Manage Manufacturing personnel as needed, including participating in hiring and training, recommending disciplinary actions, participating in performance reviews, and managing vacation requests
+ Manage plant operations as needed, including assignment of staff personnel while collaborating with Production Planning department
+ Utilize production schedule provided by production planning to organize and prioritize batches to be made
+ Schedule jobs, kettle, equipment and labor utilizing the whiteboard system
+ Print batch tickets and provide them to material handler for picking, providing direction for priority
+ Close Vicinity batches, including evaluating WIP values, processing non-stocking inventory, double check raw material consumption and finish good completion
+ Field questions from production planning and customer service on status of manufacturing or shipping as requested
+ Coordinate the activities of manufacturing operations with other Company functions, as necessary
+ Ensure that operational and administrative practices result in accurate inventory control – bin location management, order of adjustments, cycle counts, receiving customer returns
+ Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures to ensure proper FIFO stock rotation of finished goods, including compliance with shipping procedures
+ Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all area
**EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:**
+ Forklift Certification
+ Leadership or Management training a plus
**EXPERIENCE:**
+ 3+ years in a manufacturing environment showing progressive development
**SKILLS:**
+ Ability to use and understand ERP and Manufacturing Software, Microsoft GP or Vicinity Manufacturing Software preferred but not required
+ Ability to use a scanner to conduct inventory transactions, Highjump experience preferred but not required
