The Manex Manager is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across a number of factories, by overseeing the implementation of Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) and coordinating the UMS activities.  S/he also builds a regional/cluster UMS master plan, providing UMS coaching , developing and managing UMS skills, and delivering UMS training in Manufacturing and potential within the Supply Chain.

The Manufacturing Excellence Manager would interact directly with Sourcing Unit Directors and their teams, functional experts within the business and external consultants and agencies to align on business objectives and deliver projects/initiatives. This role reports to the VP Supply Chain for Southern Africa.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Develop and drive WCM programme deployment, including external audits and Awards ManagementCo-ordinate the self-assessment in preparation for internal & external auditsEstablish a common approach for implementing UMS in the factories, providing coaching, supporting training activities and providing effective knowledge and best practices transfer across the sites.Standardise UMS similarities and synergies within the plants, developing action plans for each siteProvide direct support for the implementation of site improvement plansResearch and  exploit new continuous improvement tools available in the marketPartner with the Africa & Nali Digital Manager on providing digital solutions to embed UMS

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

University degree essential – EngineeringWCM/TPM/Lean Philosophy training4-5 years experience in manufacturing, ideally FMCGUnit Manager / Plant Manager experienceAppropriate functional / technical expertise.Strong WCM/TPM/Lean background is requiredStrong leadership skillsContinuous improvement experience
