Job Description

Ultra Precision Control Systems are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will lead, manage and develop a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for the design, development, validation and on-going support of production systems to ensure the system produces product that consistently fulfils technical, quality and cost requirements. Develop a proactive team that exceed expectations in goals and objective and demonstrate Ultras leadership behaviours.

The creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing engineering as well as developing, implementing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs). In the role you will be expected to drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement & machine availability.

Design, prove, implement, and maintain production systems to deliver product on time, to quality and cost requirements. A key element of the role is to manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential

Educated to degree level in an Engineering or Science Discipline or equivalent

Experience with the development and sustainment of programs to meet Quality, Cost and Delivery requirementsExpert knowledge and application experience of the required tools and techniques required to embed process engineering solutions (e.g Control Plans, PFMEAs, KPIs, SPC, VSM, Process Mapping)Ability to create a high performing team and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external suppliers and other members of staff.Good communication skills demonstrated both verbally and in the generation of documentationTrack competencies of the team and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives, including the development of apprenticesSelf-driven and able to monitor own performance effectively to ensure commitments and deadlines are metEffectively able to manage productivity of the team and establish KPI’s for continuous improvementEffective planning and organising capabilities
