Description
First shift hours may vary, typically would work from 6/6:30 AM – 3/3:30 PM.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineering Internship provides a unique opportunity to gain experience through problem solving in a manufacturing environment. Problem solving will be focused on manufacturing engineering, product flow, process improvement as well in issues related to safety, quality, delivery and cost. There will opportunities to run projects under the advisement of the coaches noted above all while building practical experience in an industry-leading, vertically integrated commercial furniture manufacturer.
The Intern will be managed and coached by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, a Manufacturing Engineer and an Engineering Technician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Organizing and ordering spare parts for manufacturing equipment.
+ Designing / implementing safety guarding on existing equipment.
+ Assisting engineering team with new equipment installation.
+ Routing updates.
+ Time study gathering.
+ Assisting our maintenance team with parts obsolescence / organization.
+ Assisting engineering with new product builds.
+ Assisting manufacturing with production interruptions related to safety, quality and productivity.
+ Keeps work area neat and clean according to company standards.
+ Works safely and follows all company rules and procedures.
+ Autocad updates to existing building and equipment files. (if applicant has autocad skills).
Position Requirements
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering related field required.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, along with general Microsoft Windows usage.
+ Some related experience and/or training with ability to read drawings.
+ Experience in Solid Works and Auto Cad is helpful but not essential.
+ Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
