Job Description:
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for assisting and supporting product/operations groups with design and implementation of test systems for prime product units and lower powertrain under test in final test and adjust booths and in process validation.
Responsibilities/Job Duties
* Assisting in initiation and tracking projects, developing specifications for vehicle testing and developing test software for full build or modular units using design specifications, providing operations and product groups with technical support for electrical and hydraulic related systems to assist in end of line test issues, equipment, purchasing, and repair.
* Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develops solutions and monitors improvements.
* Engages in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic/safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns.
* Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements
Top Candidates Will have:
* Experience with digital multimeters, data acquisition devices, PLC programming, industrial instrumentation, and other electrical tools
* Prior experience working in a large equipment manufacturing environment
* Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics.
* Knowledge of assembly and tests system processing
* Capable of machine system troubleshooting using tools Electronic Technician, SISWeb, VIMS, and other Caterpillar software.

• Uses standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolves common problems.
• Conducts routine inspections; checks machine performance and equipment safeguards; reports standards violations.
Manufacturing Processes:
• Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness.
• Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks.
• Trains others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process.
• Participates in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies.
• Selects and optimizes specific methodologies for specific products.
• Evaluates benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies.
Manufacturing Safety:
• Consults on the use of new tools and techniques for safety protection.
• Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicates safety rules and regulations.
• Assesses and reports unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action.
• Ensures that all employees and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:
• Consults on development and implementation of cross-functional standards.
• Develops and uses control and monitoring mechanisms for adherence.
• Ensures communication vehicles are effectively informing affected areas and employees.
