ITW Shakeproof Automotive serves all the major Automotive OEMs and their tier suppliers with metal fasteners totaling approximately $160M in revenues. **Job Description** **Position Summary:** This position is a paid internship for the summer of 2025. The internship will be based in our Elgin, IL plant and will report directly to a Manufacturing Engineer. The primary deliverables are to support die redesign and segment part manufacturing. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Participate in the design, development process improvements of new and existing products and equipment. + Drive improvement in manufacturing processes through the use of Lean principles. + Conduct ongoing analyses manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. + Assist in new product development and modifications and revisions to existing products. + Participate in coordination and implementation of capital projects + Investigate and install new methods, layouts, equipment and process analysis that improve overall operation of the plant. + Develop and implement standardization of processes. + Assist in troubleshooting processes which are prone to be frequent or major production problems. + Other tasks and duties as assigned **Qualifications:** + Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Student (incoming freshman to senior) + Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills + Experience with AutoCAD is a plus + Self-motivated with a high attention to detail + Excellent time management skills and project management abilities + Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills + Ability to work collaboratively with others **Additional information** All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
