Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer II performs complex and varied work to develop and recommend improvements in the Manufacturing system and in product manufacturability and cost effectiveness. 

Essential Functions:

Mentor’s the team and more junior ME’s, providing training and coaching whenever possibleLead interdisciplinary teams on assigned projectsStudy, analyze and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, flow, fixtures and tooling as needed to support production.Investigate, recommend, and implement manufacturing cost reduction and product improvement programsIdentify root cause and corrective actions for manufacturing problemParticipate in customer specification and statement of work reviewsParticipate in the review and evaluation of new product designs or design changesReview and analyze design change request initiated by manufacturing personnel to determine feasibility, validity, savings, effect on design, and verify justification for changeEvaluate, test and select facilities, equipment and materials required for production in conjunction with production supervision, purchasing and other groupsPerform a variety of cost analyses, e.g., cost estimates for quotations or "make or buy" decisionsDevelop manufacturing operating instructionsDevelop and track manufacturing metrics to monitor the health of processesEvaluate non-conformances as part of the Material Review BoardDirect work activities of production operators to aid in problem solvingDevelop procedures and train assemblers and operators in machine operations, processes or assembly applicationsCoordinate with vendors and customersAbility to identify and prioritize work with limited input from managerAble to develop ROI or business case and present to management in the support of capital equipment, new product or process development and productivity improvements.Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: 3+ years’ experience as Manufacturing EngineerKnowledge: Practical application of the theories of modern production principles and methods as applied to a high technology design and manufacturing operation; Knowledge of material characteristics and processing, chemicals, basic concepts of: electrical systems, mechanical systems, fluids, and heat transfer.Skills/Abilities: Effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization Education/Certification: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material science, or related fieldEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualification:

Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $98,384.00 to $115,169.80. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
