Responsibilities Support quality, productivity and safety goalsOptimize machine and process efficienciesManage projects and make recommendations regarding new technology to improve product quality and productivityLead and/or provide technical support for continuous improvement projectsAnalyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnelAssist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment and operations for better utilization of spaceWork closely with research and development, quality assurance, operations and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixturesDetermine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences of defects in the manufacturing processMaintain and troubleshoot multi-discipline machine technology to include mechanical, electrical, controls, PLCs, vision systems, and drivesSupport development and maintenance of new tooling, machines and high speed production equipmentCreate training instructions and standard operating procedures for use in equipment implementationTrain production and maintenance departments on use and maintenance of new equipmentEnsure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all timesStay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficienciesSupport all current and new product introductionsManage vendors/subcontractors to ensure requirements of the job scope are accomplished and confirm that all procedures, policies and regulations are followedAll other duties, as assigned Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong project management/organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong mechanical/electrical background with excellent troubleshooting skillsStrong analytical, problem solving and time management skillsExperience with CAD and/or Solid Works applicationsExperience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts preferredExperience in a manufacturing environment preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to walk, lift and carry materials in order to function in their job.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties for this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and various types of equipment that have vibration.  The noise level in the environment is moderate.
