Manufacturing Engineer

GME is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new engine programs at assembly plants and new powertrain and battery cell and assemblies at component plants. The Manufacturing Engineer candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for the following:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).Willing/able to travel domestically and internationally (up tp 80% domestically & internationally into '27).Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.Solid experience and knowledge in:Basic Engine functionVarious assembly processes including pressing, valve seal install, valve key-up, fastening, and error-proofing.Assembly equipment including feeders, conveyors, robots, vision system, fastening, testing and assembly tooling. Auto Cad, Teamcenter, E2KS, GSPAS, MIDAS, GI, and other PLM-related toolsQOS, PFMEA, DCP, FIS, One Spot, Ariba Purchasing System, and other LRCA elements.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team.Proven record of functioning in a plant environment, including the ability to work with plant management to implement new programs with minimal disruption to the plant’s performance.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skillsAbility to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints.Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.

Lead design, procurement, build and installation of Powertrain Assembly Systems.Meet program timing, cost, and quality deliverables for global powertrain programs.Deliver standardized processes and equipment in line with global powertrain strategies.Work with pre-program engineering, product development, and TS to address program-specific assembly issues.Support and lead various elements of the development of the Global Powertrain Assembly BoPs, MPSs, MDSs, and SELs.Support Investment Efficiency for assembly equipment and systems.Support development of new technology through the Concept and Implementation Readiness Process.Work with departmental peers to insure complete alignment across all cylinder head assembly systems.Deliver Manufacturing Quality Operating System requirements for cylinder head assembly system.Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.Use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for high volume manufacturing operations.Write/modify/maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts.Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Assembly feasibility issues.Create and follow a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of tools in your subsystem. Lead cylinder head assembly equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning at the manufacturing site. In addition, support equipment buyoffs at vendor facilities.Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and equipment issues.Develop "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs.Support Department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives.Interface with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs, Operations Teams).
