**POSITION DESCRIPTION**
**JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer**
**REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager**
**FLSA: Exempt**
**RELATIONSHIPS: Other Manufacturing Engineers, Sustainment Engineers, Quality Engineers, Design Engineers, Team Leaders, Quality, FBSL, Buyer/Planners, any other internal departments as required, Suppliers, Customers**
**LOCATION: Elizabethtown**
**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Manufacturing Engineers own and drive the efficiency and uptime of Elizabethtown manufacturing processes. They closely collaborate with other members of the Elizabethtown operations and engineering teams to identify, prioritize and execute actions and countermeasures. They support product development projects through collaborating with global R&D to develop optimal manufacturing processes for new products. They increase and constantly update the technical capability of the Elizabethtown operations team, and drive automation and digitalization in Elizabethtown manufacturing.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
1. Ownership of efficiency and uptime of manufacturing processes in assigned area of responsibility
2. Responsibility for achievement of internal quality and productivity targets
3. Indirect leadership of relevant resources
4. Monitoring and analysis of all production cells and their processes, using all available data sources, to identify issues and improvement opportunities within assigned area of responsibility
5. Close collaboration with the Elizabethtown operations team to identify priorities in terms of quality and efficiency optimization
6. Based on (d) and (e) above, defining actions to optimize, and owning their implementation; collaboration with other departments where necessary to achieve this
7. Close collaboration with the Elizabethtown Operations and Industrial Engineering teams to optimize equipment uptime through leading/facilitating competent maintenance and repair, and providing level 2 support
8. Driving problem solving process when quality issues arise, defining and implementing countermeasures
9. Support the introduction of new products, especially where new processes and/or equipment are required
10. Responsibility for implementation and sustainment of predictive maintenance plans
11. Responsibility to ensure and enforce documentation of all process changes
12. Responsibility to ensure training and creation of training documentation for manufacturing employees
13. Support visualization and 5S in all cells
14. Collaboration with engineering teams to identify project priorities in terms of new product development and VAVE
15. Contribution to industrial engineering projects, including work orders, product requirement specifications, operations resource management, relevant project planning and on-time delivery
16. Research for available technologies and best practices to ensure team capabilities and technologies used are up to date with latest possibilities (with particular focus to IIOT-related opportunities)
17. Responsibility for compliance of cell equipment with occupational health and safety standards, and optimization of equipment for lowest-possible safety risks
18. Drive continuous improvement through application and teaching of the Fortive Business System
19. Any other tasks considered necessary or appropriate by the direct supervisor
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university
+ Lean experience preferred
+ Experience working in multi-discipline team framework with formal project planning.
+ Solid modeling experience creating parts/fixtures in 3D
**SPECIAL SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS/REQUISITES :**
+ US Citizenship
+ Solidworks or other relevant 3D CAD experience
+ Ability to work in team framework.
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.
