DEKA Research and Development is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for process development and improvement of complex mechanical assemblies that are transitioning from design into manufacturing. This key role as a Manufacturing Engineer requires cross-functional effectiveness both internally and externally with the engineering team, operations team, materials team, customers, and partners.

How you'll make an impact as a Manufacturing Engineer:Work collaboratively with engineering team to develop robust, production-ready designsDevelop and maintain bill of materials, line layout, production control methods, clear assembly instructions, fixtures, and PFMEA’sPlan, conduct and execute pre-production builds, with a vision for volume productionConsult with suppliers to determine product specifications, working with supply chain team to purchase equipment, materials, and partsInterface with manufacturing partners for all stages of design transfer to ensure products meet performance criteria, delivering a quality product on-timeTroubleshooting pre-production medical devices and supporting ongoing test effortsSkills you will need to be successful in this role as a Manufacturing Engineer:BS in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device preferred)Must have Solidworks experience, a CSWA or other certification a plusExperience in Design for Manufacturability and/or Design TransferPrevious hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems/devices.Knowledge of component forming processes, assembly processes, and production line optimizationUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles (prior experienced preferred)Passionate about understanding how things work, and solving tough technical problemsMust have excellent communication skills and time management skills About DEKA:
