PURPOSE:
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing systems per project requirements.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:
Define and implement manufacturing systems appropriate for customer applications.Support manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Scrap and DowntimeEstablish and improve robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parametersCapability to independently or together with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing processAdvanced troubleshooting of complex mechanical issues with high-speed automated manufacturing equipmentProvide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.Understanding the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the productSupport creation and implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs).Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies.Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products.Develop and maintain process documentation.Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnelDefine, Implement, and evaluate proposed design updates and processes.Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.Create work instructions and coordinate training for facilities and production personnelAnalyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow, design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for implementation of manufacturing systems.Coordinate/participate in pFMEA of manufacturing processesApply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.Container Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities:
Work with technicians to identify and troubleshoot issues with equipmentCreate work instructions that address known issues – train techniciansReview PM content and frequency and align with known issues to improve performance and reduce downtimeDevelop machine improvements that will improve long term performanceDevelop setup tools to improve SKU changeover times - train technicians
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in related field.Minimum 5 years of experience working in a medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated manufacturing environment, e.g. Automotive; Defense/Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, and/or Food & Beverage. Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience working in high-volume automated assembly processesKnowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotics, Vision (e.g. Cognex, Keyence), material handling/part feeding systems, conveyors, ultrasonic welding, foil sealing, HMI/PLC controls.Travel required – 5% (for training)What you'll receive for the great work you provide:
