Managing Executive Group Cybersecurity
Role purpose:

 

Accountable for cybersecurity strategy and execution across Vodacom’s footprint (South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Lesotho, Ethiopia, Mpesa, Vodacom Financial Services)Part of the Global Vodafone Cybersecurity leadership team and influences global cybersecurity strategy and direction.Engagement with Group Exco as well as local market Excos to drive cybersecurity decision making in critical endeavours including establishment of new business opportunities, Mergers and acquisitions, and new partnerships.Influencing regulation and regulators across the footprint including upskilling and establishment of CERT capabilitiesBoard-level engagement on the business risks associated with cybersecurity as well as progress of the overall cybersecurity programme.People management across a matrixed organisation allowing for a cohesive approach to cybersecurity across VodacomYour responsibilities will include:

 

Own and manage Africa-wide cybersecurity operations center and incident management processes aligned with the overall Vodafone approach.Define and maintain Africa cybersecurity strategy aligned with Vodacom business and Technology strategiesLiaison between external stakeholders and Vodacom on cybersecurity including regulators, media and insurers.Takes overall responsibility for and coordinates the management of cyber risks, as well as reporting of such risk to Group Exco and Group BoardEnsures the delivery of all Cyber Security programs and projects across AfricaThe ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

Must have technical/professional qualifications: 

CISSP mandatory requirementCISM preferrableBachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications, Information/Cyber Security, Information technology or Computer Science or equivalent;MSc or MBA and CISSP will be an added advantage;Prefered Security Certifications (CDPSE (Data Privacy), CEH (Ethical Hacking), CRISC (Risk and Systems Control), CISM (Security Management), CCSP (Cloud Security) or equivalent);Minimum of Twelve (12) years’ Management Experience in Technology and Network Systems and at least Eight (8) years in the Cyber\Information Security field.


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Excellent Leadership skills, with the ability to influence and lead teams that both directly and indirectly report into the roleAbility to influence C-level stakeholders to drive implementation of company programs aimed to ensure Cyber security compliance.Both financial services and telecommunication experience in leading and navigating strategic changes and operational challengesVery Good communication skills, ability to interact at ExCo level and BoardVery good Crisis Management skills, ability to lead a crisis triggered by Cyber Security incidents across a spectrum of threat actors.
