Department: Administration Position: Managing Director Location: ISB - Corporate HQT Number Of Openings: 1 Description: The Managing Director (MD) serves as the accountable executive of an airline and head of overall strategic direction, leadership, and operational management of the airline. This role requires a dynamic leader who can effectively oversee all aspects of airline operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, drive financial sustainability, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the airline's strategic vision and long-term business objectives in alignment with the leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Lead the airline's growth and expansion initiatives, including network development, partnerships, and market positioning.
- Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to remain competitive in a dynamic aviation market.
Operational Oversight:
- Ensure efficient management of all operational departments, including flight operations, engineering, commercial, and airport operations.
- Oversee implementation of safety, security, and quality standards in compliance with international aviation regulations and best practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of airline operations.
Regulatory Compliance and Liaison:
- Ensure full compliance with all local and international aviation regulations, including those set by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
- Serve as the primary liaison with aviation regulators, government agencies, and industry bodies to ensure the airlines interests are represented.
- Oversee audits and certifications to maintain operational and regulatory approvals.
Financial and Commercial Management:
- Drive financial performance by managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing revenue.
- Oversee pricing strategies, revenue management, and marketing initiatives to ensure profitability and market share growth.
- Lead efforts to secure funding, manage investor relations, and develop business plans for sustainability.
Stakeholder and Board Relations:
- Provide regular updates to the leadership and the Board of Directors on operational performance, financial health, and strategic initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including shareholders, government agencies, and industry partners.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A Masters degree (e.g., MBA) or professional aviation certification is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the aviation industry, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing airline operations, regulatory compliance, and business growth
