The opportunity

 

Within EY's Technology Risk practice, we are currently seeking a Manager to lead and manage and execute third party assurance engagements, specifically SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC3 reports as well as other IT compliance services. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their control environments, performing assessments, and preparing detailed reports that meet the standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

 

Your key responsibilities:

 

This candidate will be required to participate in our Technology Risk services offering. This includes, but is not limited to:

 

SOC Reporting

Work with clients to understand their business processes, control environments, and specific SOC reporting requirements, and conduct assessments of the design and operating effectiveness of their controls. Manage multiple SOC reporting engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality work, while effectively communicating findings and recommendations to clients both verbally and in written reports. Lead SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagements end to end under CSAE3416/3000, SSAE18, or ISAE 3402. Prepare SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 reports and ensure the reports are in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines, including AICPA and other regulatory requirements. Stay up-to-date with changes in SOC reporting standards and best practices, and continuously improve the SOC reporting process. Work collaboratively with other team members, including auditors, IT specialists, and consultants, to deliver comprehensive SOC reporting services. Provide coaching and training to Consultants and Seniors on SOC concepts.


Internal Controls Attestation

Focus on reviewing management’s assertions over their business processes and IT governance, risk and controls. Work with the engagement team and client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses the risks inherent to the engagement. Maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and the value to be delivered. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex information systems and apply it to client situations. Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services. Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to bring value to clients. Play an active role in resource management, team development and training related activities.


To qualify for the role you must have:

A minimum of 5 years of experience (post-graduation) working as an auditor for a public accounting firm or have equivalent systems/technology experience Extensive SOC reporting experience, as well as experience with IT Audit methodologies (internal and external audits) A strong understanding of the requirements set under CPA Canada, AICPA and ISAE, as it pertains to SOC reporting Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Commerce, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or another relevant program Possess relevant IT / audit designation(s) (e.g. CPA, CISA, CRISC) Proven ability to teach and develop your team’s knowledge as it relates to CPA and AICPA reporting standards. Excellent leadership and teamwork skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly motivated, committed self-starter Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
