Are you interested in leading the team that develops, deploys, and maintains the software and hardware systems supporting rides and shows at Disney attractions worldwide? As the Manager of the Global Engineering & Technology (GE&T) - Platform Systems group, you will oversee team members who create and support software and hardware systems across Walt Disney World theme parks, resorts, and Disney Cruise Line.

This is a Full-Time, Hybrid role based in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

What You Will Do

As the Manager of Platform Systems, you will coordinate software and hardware development resources to create and maintain systems that collect attraction data for real-time alerts and predictive analytics. These systems will primarily operate on-premises but may include cloud-based solutions or a combination. Additionally, you will be responsible for automating the deployment of these systems.

As the group leader, assessing application lifecycle management practices, tools, and processes is essential. This involves consistently improving efficiency by refining standard procedures for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining attraction software and hardware systems at Walt Disney World Resort and beyond.

Required Qualifications & Skills

This is what you will need to be successful in the role:

Exceptional communication skills for coordinating with various partners, including Engineering Services, WDI, and external vendors.

Demonstrated capability to lead a diverse team managing multiple concurrent projects.

Advanced project tracking abilities, including managing costs and timelines effectively.

8+ years of in-depth knowledge and experience with server and desktop operating systems, such as Windows and Linux.

5+ years of expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and methodologies.

5+ years of hands-on experience with computer system networks, including troubleshooting.

Proficiency with Jira or comparable issue tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be helpful if you also had:

Proficiency in container technologies such as Docker, and Kubernetes.

Proficiency in DevOps languages like Terraform or Chef.

Strong programming capabilities in object-oriented languages and full stack web development.

Experienced with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

Proficiency with data pipeline tools, including Cribl, and expertise with log aggregation tools, such as Splunk.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field of study, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred: Master’s of Business Administration, Professional Engineering Management, or other similar post-graduate degrees.
