Manager Software Engineer

Overview
•\tMastercard Cross-Border Services Development Team is developing products to displace cash by creating simpler and more secure ways to transact for everyone, everywhere via fast, secure, and other innovative solutions.
•\tThe purpose of this job is to be a Manager on a team that is focused on developing new or enhanced initiatives and responsible for delivery of high quality software solutions using agile methodology.
•\tResponsible for leading a team of IT Professionals for the development and delivery of quality software solutions in a timely and cost effective manner.

Role
•\tProvide technical leadership and direction to software development teams.
•\tSuccessfully lead definition, development and delivery of major cross-department initiatives with broad scope and long-term business implications.
•\tPartner with business to identify innovative solutions and drive strategic decisions. Develop business case in alignment with the MasterCard objectives.
•\tWork closely with product and architecture teams on product definition, technical design, and overall execution for the team.
•\tDevelop and deliver solutions as part of a scrum team and including design documents and proof of concepts.
•\tPerform code reviews across multiple scrum teams to ensure strong coding principles are adhered to.
•\tResearch and evaluate current and upcoming technologies and frameworks.
•\tParticipate in PoCs (Proof of Concept) and help the Department with the selection of Vendor Solutions, Technologies, Methodologies and Frameworks.
•\tEnsure the project or effort is adequately staffed; trained and managed.
•\tEnsure personnel have appropriate skills and behaviors; and effectively communicate performance results; as necessary, managing each effort within approved manpower and budget guidelines.

All About You
•\tMust be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and have the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.
•\tDegree in Computer Science or related field.
•\tTech leadership experience with development teams.
•\tExpert experience with performing code reviews, creating system design, and mentoring junior level developers.
•\tExtensive experience in designing and developing consumer facing products is a must have.
•\tExpertise in technology like Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Microservices and Oracle SQL development.
•\tHands on experience in UNIX and Knowledge of cloud native development such as pivotal cloud foundry, AWS etc.
•\tExperience with software development methodologies, particularly with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
•\tRequires ability to provide overall business or technical project planning for product enhancements.
•\tManagement skills to coach other co-workers utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills.
