EY is looking for a Manager with a focus on quantitative risk to join the EY Quant team. The EY Quant team focuses on applying quantitative techniques within the financial risk management of financial institutions. In addition to the traditional quantitative work in the credit and market risk areas, the team focuses on new topics such as integrating ESG into financial risk models and others. Our services include a broad spectrum of solutions, from developing a financial risk model to supporting clients in major risk management transformations.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with many of the world’s leading banks, and to leverage the deep knowledge and wide-ranging skills and experience of your colleagues. You will also provide a well-integrated broad array of risk management services to financial institutions with a focus on quantitative risk-related service offerings.

 

The successful candidate will lead client engagements and internal projects. You will also take the lead in identifying and escalating potential business opportunities for EY on existing engagements. You will also help create a collaborative and inclusive working environment by practicing active listening skills and respecting differences.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As a Manager in the team, you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

 

Manage a team on quantitative risk engagements, providing support to junior team members, ensuring effective communication, timely delivery and reporting on progress to senior stakeholders. Drive business development opportunities, contributing to proposals and playing a key role in work winning. Take a lead role on project planning, budgeting and internal reporting. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with clients while building strong internal relationships within the advisory practice and across other services. Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff, providing training, coaching and mentoring where required. Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills and take an active role in side of desk activities. Promote an inclusive and positive working environment.

 

 

 

What we look for

 

We’re looking for experienced problem solvers, with strong proven project management skills who can demonstrate a depth of quantitative risk experience. You should also be comfortable taking ownership as well as working as a team member who has a real desire to share responsibility and provide support to your colleagues, whilst maintaining constant communication on the progress of engagements.

 

To qualify for the role you must have some or all of the following:

 

At least 5 years proven experience in model development, monitoring and/or validation of credit risk models Strong academic background in a quantitative and technical course (Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Maths, Physics, Statistics preferred) or equivalent. Related certification is a plus (e.g., FRM, CPA/ CA, CFA) Deep understanding of modelling techniques and practical experience in credit risk model development and/or model validation projects such as PD, LGD, EAD, IFRS 9 models or models to tackle business-related challenges Knowledge of risk programming languages such as SAS, Python, SQL, R and other tools such as Microsoft Excel, VBA, Word and PPT Solid continuous relevant experience in Financial Services, either as part of an institution; in an advisory or business consulting capacity to such organisations Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical complex credit risk concepts in a simple way to colleagues/stakeholders with different levels of understanding of credit risk
