The Project Controls Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of high-profile projects and to grow within the Instrumentation & Control Systems (ICS) team. The Project Control team can expect to support a global portfolio of mainly moderate to large complex projects that includes design, engineering, and fabrication.
The Project Controls Manager is a critical role responsible for supporting the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects within budget and on schedule. This position requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
This role will oversee and hold accountable a direct reporting project controls team members to deliver program objectives. This role also has an interface with business leaders to help support and advance business objectives. Must have advanced skills in scheduling, cost & risk, cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, and conflict resolution
Your Day to Day:
Assign and/or obtain project controls personnel to manage cost, schedule and performance of component projects, while working to ensure the ultimate success and acceptance of the program. Provide leadership to train, motivate, and direct project control professionals to resolve issues during project implementation. Develop Project Control work processes in the area of scheduling, cost forecasting, and earned value management. Analyze needs and plan for unique customer satisfaction and project performance metrics. Provide the tools and processes to plan work such that inefficiencies are reduced, and overall project performance is optimized. Review project schedules, ensuring all tasks and milestones are outlined and tracked effectively. Provide oversight of project forecasts to ensure projects remain within budget. Identify potential risks to project timelines and budgets and develop mitigation strategies to address these risks proactively. Create and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, achievements, and areas of concern. Ensure optimal allocation of resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to meet project objectives. Implement quality control measures to ensure that project schedules meet the required standards and specifications. Support the offer development process through providing Project Control estimates based on scope of work. Plan and manage annual team budget.Who You Are:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is preferred. Experience: At least 5 years, 10 years strongly preferred, of experience in project controls or project management, with a proven track record of managing complex projects. Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, SAP, Excel), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.Work Environment
The Project Controls Manager will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, often collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role may require occasional travel to project sites and client meetings.
