Manager Operations

Overview

The Operations Manager position manages local scheduling and real-time operations that facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve all goals as related to Safety, Quality of initial product, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity. All activities are completed within the Annual Operating Plan for the given year.

This position engages with manufacturing of rubber-molded components to support the manufacturing of Medical devices and Pharmaceutical products.

Key Accountabilities

1. Develop and manage manufacturing processes to meet or exceed product standards under safe conditions and in accordance with production schedules and good manufacturing practices. Involves the most effective and efficient use of available resources to produce products that meet or exceed customer requirements for quality, delivery, cost and service.

2. Review product documentation and manufacturing operational documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy. Utilize appropriate systems, procedures and cross functional input to manage revisions to documents, processes and products.

3. Through deployment of Lean Six Sigma processes, responsible for identifying opportunities to improve safety, service, reduction of scrap, or otherwise reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality.

4. Responsible for enforcing all Safety and Standard Operating Procedures assuring compliance with all Cirtec Medical and regulatory requirements including ISO, FDA-QSR and other global agency requirements.

5. Responsible for motivating and developing supervisors, leads and production associates to meet the current and future challenges of the business.

6. Establish an environment for a safe and secure facility and utilize associate participation to improve the environment. Enhance the level of housekeeping and cleanliness and provide essentials for continual quality improvements. Ensure compliance to all OSHA training requirements and regulations.

7. Evaluates employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods.

8. Leads / participates in safety related initiatives including prevention of accidents and necessary administrative functions.

9. Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualification required:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management or equivalent combination of education and experience required, advance degree preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive management experience with at least 5 years of manufacturing supervision.

Knowledge and application of QAD as an MRP system.

Knowledge/experience required beyond minimum qualification:

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, along with solid manufacturing and operations experiences.

Other key factors:

Possess an understanding of and experience in the application of labor contracts within a Union environment.
