Position Overview:

We are looking for a Manager of Special Projects to lead the growth of our Portfolio by identifying new business opportunities, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, supporting technical bids, and working closely with our technical teams to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent business acumen, project management experience, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy & Opportunity Identification: Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities within the technology space. Develop and implement strategies to drive new business, partnerships, and sales. Work closely with the Account Managers and product and technical teams to align market demands with technical capabilities. Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Engage with clients to understand their business needs and develop tailored technical solutions. Act as a liaison between clients and internal technical teams to ensure solutions meet client requirements. Support Sales & Revenue Growth: Identify and pursue opportunities to increase revenue through product/service offerings and strategic partnerships. Work with sales teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations to win new business. Support the Sales team and Portfolio manager where needed in negotiating contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with clients. Technical Expertise & Collaboration: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to effectively communicate the technical value proposition to clients. Collaborate with internal technical teams to customize solutions and ensure feasibility. Provide input into product development based on client feedback and market demand. Project Management & Reporting: Track business development progress, report key performance indicators (KPIs), and adjust strategies as necessary. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: 3-5 years in a technical business development role or related field. Experience in Software Systems developed to support the North American Freight Market is highly valued. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of rail domain components and back office systems. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Sales & Negotiation Skills: Proven track record in driving sales and building long-term client relationships. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple business development projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop innovative business solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in project developing software solutions for Freight Rail Customers Have sustained relationships with key decision makers within the Freight Rail Industry.

Work Environment

·        Upwards of 35% travel may be required.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL and Munhall, PA is $154,100 - $181,400. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 20% of the base salary.
