Manager of Software Engineering (Public Cloud, Data Lake)

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, Data Management, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities: 

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 

Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience with 5+ years of leading hands-on Cloud Native Data Engineering Teams Experience building and deploying AWS Data Lake and Data Pipeline Services such as Glue, EMR and working on Cloud Native (AWS, Azure, GCP) and traditional ETL solutions Expert level knowledge with Java and Python technologies Possess AWS Solution Architect and AWS Data Analytics Specialty Certification or equivalent Experience leading technology projects Experience managing technologists Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines

Hands-on experience building AWS lake formation based data lake platform Experience working with financial and banking services Experience with CI/CD implementation
