Manager of IT Business Applications

Position Summary: We are seeking a Manager of IT Business Applications to lead our software application initiatives and ensure seamless integration across business processes. You will manage a team of five direct reports and work closely with external vendors responsible for our software development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Guide and develop a team of business application specialists, promoting teamwork and ongoing improvement. Vendor Collaboration: Manage relationships with external software vendors, ensuring that development and maintenance align with our company goals. Automation Initiatives: Lead efforts to automate processes, including: Efficiently handling HVAC support requests. Optimizing dispatch operations. Enhancing technician mobile app functionalities. Implementing automated invoicing systems. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate regularly with department heads to gather requirements and provide updates, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Software Optimization: Oversee and enhance existing software solutions to meet operational needs.
Required Skills & Experience: Professional Background: 6+ years of experience in Software Development. 3+ years in a managerial capacity within Business Applications. Vendor Management Experience: Proven track record in overseeing software projects with external vendors. Service Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with platforms such as GP Wennsoft, ServiceMax, IFS, etc. System Experience: Background in ERP and CRM systems.
Preferred Skills & Experience: Industry Insight: Experience in HVAC, mechanical repair, or field engineering support. Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of software engineering concepts. Preference for candidates with a background in application development or software engineering, facilitating better accountability with external development teams. Familiarity with SharePoint is a plus.
Cultural Fit: Ability to engage business stakeholders throughout the development and implementation processes. Proven experience in building relationships with internal department heads, with a focus on collaboration (90% internal, 10% external).
