Responsible for the operation and overall performance of the Nutritional Services department, to include: food procurement, preparation, procedures, assembly, service and distribution for patients/clergy, employees, visitors and others (including guests, or catered events). Plans, organizes and coordinates activities related to medical nutrition therapy for in-patients, out-patients. This includes, but is not limited to: the development, implementation, monitoring and revision of standards of care for medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education; nutrition support guidelines; nutrition education materials for patients, residents and families; development and implementation of Performance Improvement activities focused on improving the quality of patient/resident outcomes. Responsible for compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Ensures adherence to standardized recipes, menus and safe food handling practices. Organizes cleaning and sanitizing of work areas, equipment and wears. Assures appropriate staffing and complement levels. Responsible for planning, budgeting, education and human resource management activities within the department. Responsible for Go Green, Sustainability, and Healthy Eating activities for facility. Strives to incorporate the philosophy and mission of Catholic Health when interacting with others. Assures compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, JCAHO standards, and state and federal laws. Serves on hospital and system committees as required. Responsibilities: EDUCATION + Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Services Management or Equivalent Experience in Healthcare; + Maintains Serve Safe Certification; required within 6 months of hire EXPERIENCE + Three (3) years managerial or supervisory experience directing staff in Nutritional Services operations in either a healthcare or hospitality environment, which must include experience in each of these areas: 1) oversight of financial resource management, 2) culinary standardization, 3) management and 4) human resources management KNOWLEDGE,SKILL AND ABILITY + Ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions and communicate clearly + Demonstrates basic computer skills (Windows, Word Processing, Spreadsheets) + Ability to effectively interact with diverse work groups + Ability to handle multiple tasks and job responsibilities + Considerable physical effort (lifts/ carry 25 pounds or greater). Prolonged, extensive and considerable standing/walking + Lifts supplies/equipment. Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts equipment/supplies.
