Manager Material Planning
**Job Summary** Responsible for managing, controlling, and directing material planning to meet production scheduled demand. Develops, implements, and maintains policies to assure the timely flow of materials within working capital guidelines. Provides oversight and data maintenance of inventory control systems used to track the status of purchase orders, inventory levels, and production requirements. Forecasts plans for anticipated materials requirements direct and indirect materials. Manages material planning and process order closing. Facilitates supplier quality and service improvement efforts specific to location. **Position Responsibilities** + Product Management related activities including: Contacting vendors, ordering product, contacting carriers, managing scheduling exceptions, managing delivery exceptions, project facilitator for vendor transitions on ingredients and packaging materials, facilitator for plant driven material change tests/requests/trials, and facilitator for MOU (management of change). Managing Includes: + Managing working capital (providing explanation for inventory, creating action plans to reach/maintain targets, monitoring warehouse capacity needs, assisting in the disposition of product over 30 days old) + Meet with vendors on site and off site. Facilitate meetings and update tracker. + Managing suspect product (working with QA to find disposition, contacting vendors regarding product issues, arranging transportation if necessary, driving team to remove suspect product from the facility, filing claims with vendors when necessary to reclaim monetary loss due to suspect product, working with QA to mitigate risk of Aged/Expired Materials). + Managing obsolete product (working with Unsaleable products manager to find a buyer, working with Finance to get the product off the books in a timely manner, communicating disposition to receiving personnel for timely removal from inventory) + Work with the warehouse team for materials: aged, fifo, holds, scheduling, late deliveries, extensions/variances, updating bill of material, continuous improvement, sap locations, cycle counting, destruction, re-placarding, psa, goods receipts vs invoicing, chep returns, dunnage, mro counts, temp ingredients, and logistics-carrier claims. + Managing process order closing. Review with team process orders, hus, psa, rework and support as needed. + Managing physical inventory (managing Inventory levels at period end to achieve working capital targets, assisting in preparatory cycle counting, when needed, participating in Quarterly Physical Inventory on count teams, when needed, managing personnel needs during counting process, when needed, reviewing inventory results and identifying suspect quantities, when needed, Identifying needs for weekly cycle counting operations, when needed) + Co-lead LSC Pillar. + Manage and support creating OPL/SOPs. + Manage and tracking sap transactions. Report to manager any issues and updates. + Provide support as needed for the plant departments and corporate. Develop long term relations ships with vendors. + Manage 1:1 meetings with team. Provide full support by providing tools, resources, to develop team individual skills and collaborate with the team. Internal Customer Satisfaction: + Working with R&D on new product introductions, product changes, and line extensions + Working with Quality to develop allergen protocols, controls, and participate in audits + Managing vendor supply issues with corporate buyers, enter in foodlogiq and work with procurement. + Communicating product supply issues to the facility and assisting in contingency planning with sense of urgency + Forecasting product needs to sister facilities which supply to our facility + Moving company owned product between accounts + Participating in plant safety audits and supporting safety events + Participating in facility wide employee engagement events + Participating in various company initiatives. Examples include: SAP Implementation, Customer Complaint reduction, Allergen control, CPS - includes supporting AMD and DDS, Customer Service initiatives and SQF + Offering personal and professional guidance to direct reports **Position Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED equivalent required, B. S. degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, or related field from a four-year college or university preferred + 3-5 years of experience in areas of purchasing, inventory, planning, logistics and general supply chain knowledge. + Ability to read, analyze and interpret quality procedures. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization. + Ability to lead presentations, events and lead/engage/take notes in meetings. + Attendance, flexibility and time management a plus. + Analyze & interpret materials management data & logically deduce the intended outcome to support production initiatives utilizing JIT philosophy & principles. + Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze data and make corresponding decisions that support both business needs and plant objectives. + APICS Certification a plus + Good leadership, project management, and organizational skills with the ability to work-cross functionally with sense of urgency + Strong analytical and problem solving skills + Self-directed, resulted and goal oriented + Experience in a Matrix environment + Experience with MS Office tools, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel + SAP experience **Compensation:** Pay Range:$79,000-$115,000 _The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity.
