K.S.A.'s:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or English with a minimum of five years experience in health care communications, communications or public relations. Experience in a health care setting is preferred. Proven ability to handle multiple projects through full spectrum of communication channels simultaneously. Ability to effectively manage, supervise, train, and evaluate support staff. Refined writing, editing, design and technical computer skills (including Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop). Experience working with external suppliers and internal personnel to produce on deadline and within budget. Proven ability to interact with all levels of staff including corporate leaders and medical staff. Strong written and oral communication skills.Job Duties:
Coordinates the development and implementation of communication plans and vehicles to support Lurie Children’s marketing objectives and business plans. Manages printed collateral creation process from concept to distribution. This includes writes and edits copy for brochures, journals, advertisements, radio/television broadcasts, etc.; designs and coordinates creation of materials; and prints/produces items in the most appropriate manner. Areas supported (but not limited to) include: Service Line Growth areas; hospital departments; physician services; assistance with Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation; affiliated organizations, etc. Manages marketing coordinator’s productivity and performance. Supervises staff execution of: printed collateral creation and design, tactical management of internal and external events, all other creative projects as assigned. Manages Marketing Department annual printed materials budget in order to meet or exceed budget goals. Acts as lead writer/editor for all Lurie Children’s marketing projects. Manages and delegates appropriate projects to marketing coordinator or vendors as appropriate. Manages all creative and print vendor relationships including price negotiation, and directs staff in the coordination of all materials produced. Ensures, to the widest level possible, standard use of brand name and logo in internal and external communications. Creates, updates, distributes and enforces graphic standards. Manages and monitors web site design and look. Works with Marketing Web Manager and vendor as lead creative point person in the creation of new web pages as well as updates/changes to existing pages. Assists in the creative development and execution of Lurie Children’s advertising campaigns. Supports Director in managing primary vendor relationship, acts as key agency liaison for graphics and overall creative feel. Coordinates the production of Lurie Children’s Outreach network locations’ marketing materials including advertisements, printed collateral and other promotional items. Reviews and approves materials created by other hospital departments and Foundation for correct use, accuracy, tone and image of Brand identity. Manages the Marketing Department Intranet materials and website through direct involvement or delegation to staff. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.Education
