The Laboratory Quality Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement/maintenance of the quality program throughout the Laboratory Service Line. This individual develops focus and purpose of lab’s quality oversight committee (quality council) and facilitates meetings. Ensures compliance of all laboratories with the quality program. The Lab Quality Manager develops framework for quality reporting at all levels. This individual monitors quality program (QSEs) and provides regular status reports to accreditation agencies and organizational leadership. Facilitates process improvement projects identified to improve the quality program. The Lab Quality Manager is involved in strategic planning to continuously improve quality throughout the Laboratory Service Line.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent (Microbiology, Lab Science, Quality).
Preferred/Optional: Master’s Degree. Additional quality education.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Five years of clinical lab experience
Preferred/Optional: Experience in lab quality/regulatory oversight. Previous leadership experience.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Minimum Required: ASCP or equivalent.
Preferred/Optional: ASQ or certification in quality/auditing beneficial.
