Manager II - Applications Engineering

The Applications Engineering Manager II is responsible for leading and developing a team of applications engineers to provide technical expertise, product selection guidance, and support for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. In this role, the Applications Engineering Manager will use market and competitive insights to position the sales channel to win, leveraging their technical expertise. He/She will work closely with product management to execute the booked sales, market share, revenue, and profitability plan, while planning, developing and launching applications and sales support tools that increase stakeholder satisfaction. What you will do:
Leadership and Team ManagementRecruit, Train, and develop high performing applications. engineering team Promote a collaborative and customer-focused culture within the department Customer Support and Technical Expertise Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and channel partners to understand their needs and challenges Lead efforts to provide technical support for competitive product selection, bidding, and customer challenges Product Application Improvements Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide customer feedback for product enhancements for customization or new product development Plan and drive the development of tools and resources (e.g. Selection software enhancements, technical literature, presentations) to support sales and applications engineering activities Sales and Marketing Support Collaborate with product management on developing pricing strategies to meet sales and profitability objectives Partner with sales and marketing teams to provide technical expertise during customer presentations, trade shows and industry events Contribute to the creation of technical content for proposals, presentations, and product documentation Support efforts to standardize and streamline applications support documentation Process Improvements and Reporting Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and accuracy within the applications engineering team Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance and identify areas for improvement Provide regular reports to leadership on activities, customer insights and project outcomes Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
