Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is currently looking for leaders to support our Operations team as a Manager General Manufacturing 1. This leader will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting our Electrical Cable and Harness Fabrication in the Melbourne, FL location.
The Manager General Manufacturing will have responsibility for aviation fabrication of Cable Harnesses to support Installation at local and customer facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant area in accordance with NGC policy and procedures as well as development of personnel, cross training, staffing and managing resources that support the operation. The selected candidate must have highly effective interpersonal skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The manager would be leading a team of 12-15 hourly cable harness and avionics technicians.Oversees the daily production and manufacturing of Electrical Cable and Harness operations.Coordinate and lead operations start up meeting.Daily resource planning to meet customer/schedule demand.Collaborate with production scheduling to meet schedule requirements.Ensure tools, plans, people and material are available to complete assigned workload.Report production KPIs to site leadership.Perform root cause analysis for corrective actions on safety & quality incidents.Mentor, train, and develop staff including performance management and corrective action.Drive continuous improvement in safety, delivery, quality and cost.Up to 50% of Travel to support Customer Requirements.We offer flexible work arrangements, phenomenal learning opportunities, educational assistance, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment. Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED and 4 years of related production experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment1 year of leading projects or teams.Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)Experience with Shop floor management system (e.g. MES), or equivalentAbility to work any shift as needed by the business.Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance and Program Access (Classified programs) within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years.Active Program Access4 years' of experience working in a manufacturing environment specific to Electrical Cable Harness Fabrication and Installation.5 years' experience in Defense Industry experience as Supervisor or Team Lead in Manufacturing Management.Experience working Repair and Installation.Familiarity with Manufacturing product line.What we offer:
