Manager for Enrollment and Creative Services
As the University's principal content development manager working in the Marketing and Communications unit, the Manager for Enrollment and Creative Services directs a team of creative professionals responsible for supporting the advancement of the University with the disciplines of advertising, graphic design, admissions-related material and web page development, social media, event planning and support, videography, and photography.  With a primary focus on supporting the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students, this position ensures that the content tells the many compelling, distinct stories of Alfred University through written content, video, and photography for use in social media, email, digital advertising, and the Alfred University website in ways that promote the University's distinct qualities and evoke positive emotions and calls to action. This team member will work with campus administrators, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community to develop ideas that tell the story of the significant impact on the world that results from receiving an education from Alfred University.  Salary: $60,406.00 Annually Essential Functions: + This position has supervisor authority over members of the creative team: Sr. Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer/Photographer, Senior Video Producer, Social Media Manager and student workers as needed + This position reports to the Vice President for Marketing and Communications + Planning the development of content with team members for video, photography, and other design outputs (posters, flyers, signs, etc.), and for use in social media campaigns + Coordinate closely with the Enrollment Management team to ensure all admissions materials are up to date and refreshed on an annual basis as needed + Coordinate with departments across campus to develop video and other promotional products + Work well with all members of the Marcom team to conceptualize and produce high-quality content for social media, email, video, web content, and marketing collateral + Identify and research potential stories of student experiences, faculty engagement and mentorship, and align them with institutional priorities + This position requires self-motivation and the ability to juggle competing priorities with a positive and solutions-focused demeanor + Create advertisements to run in the digital and traditional spaces and help direct marketing campaigns + Assist the Vice President and unit Project Manager to manage freelance vendor relationships and workflows + Follow and enforce brand marketing guidelines when using trademarks, logos, and University design standards + Measure the success of marketing campaigns to demonstrate an effective return on the investment; manage metrics dashboards to share with campus stakeholders, leaders and board of trustees + Support campus marketing plans to align with the University's strategic plan and brand strategy and achieve annual operating plan goals, e.g., primarily supporting the Student Experience Management Duties: + Integrate effectively with the University Admissions team to implement creative campaigns to boost yield of new students + Provide professional development opportunities for direct reports, and support their efforts with a positive, servant leadership style + Work well within Alfred University's culture of collaboration and inclusivity + Serve as a high-value team member supporting the mission of the Marcom unit of the University + Help the creative team overcome obstacles that arise within a project or due to schedule challenges and offer solutions + Provide responsible updates to unit leadership or other administrators on the progress of each project and stage of development + Provide unit leadership with regular updates on team member performance and offer duly earned recognition for achievements Qualifications-Education & Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: + Must have experience in the university admissions process + Must be a creative storyteller with a keen eye and ear to engage audiences with distinct and relevant content that elevates the visibility and appreciation for Alfred University + Bachelor's degree in communications, integrated marketing, public relations, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred + Leverage admissions insight data to refine brand messaging for all campaign activity + Identify brand-building opportunities for Alfred University + Demonstrated professional leadership and experience, backed by a portfolio of video and other marketing work that shows expertise in content creation and distribution + Proven capability using Adobe Creative Suite and content management systems + Experience using a digital asset management platform (Libris, other) + Strong experience using the main social media channels to create and manage posts with the Social Media Manager and monitor for activity; demonstrated proficiency developing and using performance metrics dashboards + Strong understanding of SEO concepts and content marketing experience + Able to manage deadlines with little supervision and a positive attitude, and to adjust to changing priorities with grace + Demonstrate exceptional communication and research skills + Must be well-organized and detail oriented + Work effectively with agency and partner relationships (Carnegie et al) + Support the positive, collaborative culture of the campus and within the Marcom unit Other Duties & Responsibilities: + Supports and assists in creating intersections for faculty, staff and students that will assist in transforming people's lives + Supports and assists in creating an evolving culture of mentoring and rich engagement opportunities for faculty, staff, and students + Maintains a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competence and respect for a wide range of identities and experiences, therefore welcoming and supporting all faculty, staff and students and expanding access to the AU experience + Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment + Participates in all required assigned training, including safety training and will comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols + Effective written and oral communication skills + Contributes to the overall success of the University by performing other duties as assigned and functioning as an enthusiastic ambassador for the University Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
