About This Role
ACCOUNTABILITY:
-Ownership of global accounting, financial reporting and consolidation of Civil Flight Services financial statements and management financial reports.
-Preparation and analysis of all regional and segment related reports and responsible to liaise with Civil and Corporate finance management, as well as local management teams.
-Ownership of financial operations, processes and controls.
MAIN TASKS:
+ Own all financial accounting operations for the CFS business unit including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow actuals and analysis.
+ Responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including performance and variance analysis.
+ Various month-end analysis including but not limited to department costs, corporate costs, operating costs (hosting, licenses, 3rd party costs, etc)
+ Liase and work closely with global finance teams, Civil finance teams, and CAE corporate finance teams to achieve reporting requirements.
+ Owner of key controls for financial accounting and reporting
+ Manage BU cash performance, including but not limited to optimizing cash collection and to track delinquent accounts.
+ Responsible for proper accounting of complex transactions including liasing with CAE complex accounting team.
+ Review RRQs (revenue recognition questionnaires) and contracts to determine proper accounting revenue.
+ Support internal and external audit activities for controls and financial information.
+ Key lead for new financial systems and new financial modules setup and migration (billing system, revenue recognition system, Oracle Cloud PPM, etc)
+ Work closely with CFS FP&A and Deals Desk to provide timely and accurate financial information for decision support and analysis.
+ Work closely with CFS management team to review department cost actuals and provide reports.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
+ University Degree in accounting
+ Professional Accounting Designation required (CA, CPA.
+ Minimum 8 years of financial analysis and reporting experience
+ In depth knowledge of accounting principles, public company financial reporting & practices
+ Proven management accounting skills and experience
+ Well-established experience in corporate consolidation
+ Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Able to thrive in an often fast paced and deadline oriented business that requires development and refinement of processes & procedures
+ Essential knowledge and experience in Oracle Cloud, HFM, HP
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)

+ Ability to manage stress and work well under pressure, e.g. meeting deadlines within prescribed timeframes
+ Able to work within a team environment and contribute towards team objectives and meeting various deadlines
+ Proven ability to analyze business financial performance; identify the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; and communicate with related teams to support driving overall business performance.
