Manager - DevOps Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager - DevOps Engineering to lead our DevOps team in fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation across our development, operations, security, and QA teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, systems administration, automation, and cloud infrastructure. This leadership role requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for building scalable, reliable, and efficient systems.

Major Activities

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing DevOps team, ensuring effective collaboration with software development, IT, and other business units.Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows for build, testing, deployment, and infrastructure management.Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) and improved operational efficiency through use of automation tools.Oversee the design and management of scalable, high-availability infrastructure across multi-cloud. Ensure proper infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery practices. Manage and optimize cloud services (Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud) for cost, performance, and security.Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders about system performance, issues, and new technologies. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of DevOps initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.Implement and enforce security best practices in the DevOps pipeline and infrastructure. Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.Lead incident response efforts, ensuring rapid resolution of issues and minimizing system downtime. Implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems to identify and address issues before they impact production. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and drive the implementation of preventive measures.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

7-8 years of experience in DevOps or a similar technical role, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Action, GitLab etc.), configuration management, and version control (Bitbucket, Git).Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, Oracle cloud and experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.Proven experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, GCP cloud observability etc.) and logging frameworks.Hands-on experience in Linux/Unix-based environments, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go), and application deployment.

Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and productive environment.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.In-depth knowledge of security best practices and vulnerability management.Ability to balance technical depth with strategic decision-making to drive business outcomes.Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Education

Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires

Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud ArchitectKubernetes Certification (CKA/CKAD), Terraform Associate, or similar certifications.
